Located in the beautiful Boulder River Valley just outside of Big Timber this small, all-inclusive lodge is ideal for couples or small groups. A departure from many of our main line lodges, the Outpost has just 4 guest rooms and can booked exclusively by groups as small as 2 anglers but can accommodate up to 8. The relaxed nature and limited capacity of the Outpost will recall your favorite fishing camp, although with the comforts and catering of a full-service lodge. Excellent access to a variety of waters allows for a mix of drift fishing and wading.
Fish from drift boats, rafts, or on foot, depending on the day. The Lower Yellowstone, Boulder River, and Stillwater Rivers will be best accessed with boats, but the smaller creeks and waters are great to wade. This is a perfect destination for anglers of all skill levels.
Boulder River Outpost consists of two cabins, with the main cabin being the gathering space/dining area and having one bedroom with a shared bath. The second cabin has three bedrooms and a single bath. Bed options include Queen beds and XL Twins.
Boulder river Outpost will provide all fly-fishing gear including waders, boots, rods, reels, and terminal tackle such as leaders, tippet, and flies. Guests wanting to bring their own rods: 5wt for all around dries, a 6wt for nymphing and streamer, and a 4wt for the small waters. Floating lines.
Guests will arrive at Bozeman (1:20 away) or Billings (1:30 away) and should secure a rental car for the easy drive to the lodge. The areas waters are best fished in spring, mid-summer, and early fall. Some of the waters are as close as 5 minutes and some will be almost an hour away, depending on where you are heading that day. Breakfast is made to order and served in the main cabin, lunches are picnic style and served streamside, and dinners will again be set in the main cabin. The lodge has a fire ring, horseshoes, and cornhole boards for after dinner games.

Packages include: Equipment use, wader rentals, all meals+beer and wine, guided fishing, rod fees on any private water days.
