The lodge is ideally located just south of Craig, MT and is set among 160 acres of wildflowers and meadows with open landscapes. The lodge has over a mile of private year-round fly fishing access on the Missouri River right on property. The Ranch offers couples, friends, families, and small corporate groups the opportunity to "get away from it all" with warm hospitality and attentive personal service in a setting that that's classic Montana. With easy access to the best fishing on “The Mo” and a plethora of excellent guides, you will chase browns and rainbows on this world-renowned river!
The Missouri River, “America's longest river,” gets its start in Montana and is famous for its dry fly fishing for large rainbows and browns. Veteran guides float the most productive sections—all a short drive away from the Ranch.
The Missouri River Ranch offers all the amenities you would expect to find at a premier destination on the Missouri. The four main lodge bedrooms all have king beds and private bathrooms, while the adjacent Loafing Shed has four very large, comfortable rooms with two to three beds per room.
We will provide a thorough list of what to pack. On the Missouri, we like 4- to 6-wt. rods (depending on fishing dries vs. nymph rigs) with floating lines. Be sure to bring quality raingear, polarized sunglasses, waders, and a hat for sun protection. Dress in layers!
Over a long season, the Ranch has no set itinerary. Most guests stay at least four nights and fish three days. By design, the lodge was incorporated into the 85-year-old barn that serves as the gathering point for the guests. The second floor is the old hayloft which is now is The Great Room. Relax by the big stone fireplace after a day of outdoor activities, chat with the chef about the evening meal, or sit on the dining deck with your favorite beverage and appetizers. For those who want to stay connected to the outside world, the Great Room offers both Wi-Fi and a TV.
