A total Solar eclipse occurs only about once every 18 months, and because the path of shadow of the Moon projected onto the Earth is very narrow, a total eclipse occurs with a narrow band across the Earth’s surface. Unless one is fortunate to be in this path, it is necessary to travel to chase the eclipse. You can be there in Spain to enjoy a wonderful program that will explore the Pyrenees in northern Spain, with amazing scenery, food, wine, and witness the eclipse.

The next total Solar Eclipse in 2026 will have a path from Greenland, across the southern tip of Iceland, and then across the ocean before transiting across northern Spain. Spain has the best weather predictions optimizing the potential for seeing the eclipse. The eclipse will occur late in the day with Sun close to the horizon, when an eclipse is low in the sky, the colors of the Moon's shadow and the surrounding sky can be unworldly, vivid oranges and yellows, deep blue and purple, an eclipse sunset unlike any other.
