Argentina – Patagonia and Cordoba – Fishing and Wingshooting

Cast and Blast Combo: Limay River Lodge and Cordoba Lodge

Argentina is a sportsman’s paradise and a land of diverse fishing and wingshooting options. Nothing expresses this diversity more than the quintessential – and coveted – “cast and blast” departure. Limay River Lodge is a brand new destination on one of the country’s finest tailwater rivers, expanding the trout fishing season from November well into May. Thanks to lower elevations and mild temperate weather, this region is to host prolific hatches, ample terrestrials and big powerful hydraulic strengthened trout.

Three airports of equal distance from the lodge offer ample flight opportunities from a quick connection from Patagonia to Cordoba, Argentina, the epicenter of dove shooting in the world. Despite all other claims, no region offers the perfect combination of undulating hilly terrain, bird volume and shooting history of the Cordoba Providence. A short drive from the airport and strategically located, the new Cordoba Lodge offers price-point shooting opportunities paired with the same accommodations, cuisine and shooting staff found in top lodges worldwide. Cordoba Lodge sacrifices nothing and affords an ideal quick dove shoot to complement a week on the water in Patagonia.

Frontiers, Patagonia Outfitters and David Denies Wingshooting are the three longest standing sporting hosts in these regions. Come experience the professionalism of all three.

Below is a sampling of your 11 days in Argentina:

Day 1:

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, Argentina, you will be met by a Frontiers-MK guide and transferred to the hotel of your choice. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure and take advantage of the incredible dining experiences found in this lovely city.

Day 2:

Depart your hotel and travel to Bariloche where you will be met by a Patagonia Outfitters representative and transferred to Limay River Lodge (approximately a 3.5 hour drive). Unpack and settle in; fishing in the afternoon / evening.

Day 3 – 7:

Enjoy five full days fishing the Limay River for the large brown trout. This tail water fishery offers the opportunity to catch strong browns and rainbows, mostly on streamers, nymphs or big dry flies. Each evening, return to Limay River Lodge for overnight accommodations. Enjoy cocktails and an expertly chef-prepared dinner before retiring after a productive day on the water.

Day 8:

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the Bariloche Airport. Upon arrival at Cordoba airport a hostess/coordinator for David Denies Wingshooting will transfer you to the lodge. Enjoy cocktails, dinner with your guides and overnight accommodations at the charming Cordoba Lodge.

Day 9 and 10:

Two full days of high-volume eared dove shooting in the Córdoba area. You will be placed in the hills or along tree lines in the fields, where you will encounter virtually every shot imaginable. A fantastic lunch will be served in the traditional asado style in the field, weather permitting. After time for a little siesta, you will continue hunting in the afternoon until dusk. Return each evening to the lodge for cocktails, dinner and overnight accommodations at the lodge.

Day 11:

Spend the morning shooting. Then after lunch at the lodge and packing, your guide will provide your transfer to the airport in Córdoba and assist with check-in for your flight home.
