Costa Rica is home to some of the largest tarpon in the world. The local fishing guides will do everything they can to put you on trophy fish. While tarpon is the target species in the area, there are smaller (less exhausting!) fish to be caught — mackerel, snook, snapper, tripletail, machaca, and guapote to name just a few.
