One of Frontiers’ Best-Value Destinations for the Traveling Bonefisherman

H2O Bonefishing – Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

H2O Bonefishing combines easy accessibility, exceptional flats, and trophy-sized bonefish to create an unforgettable Bahamian experience.

Getting There Is Easy

Freeport is easily reached from the U.S. with several convenient flight options:

  • American Airlines – Daily flights to/from Miami (a second daily flight may already be operating).
  • Bahamas Air – Direct service between Fort Lauderdale and Freeport.
  • Western Air – Daily 11:30 a.m. flight from Fort Lauderdale.

Alternatively, guests can fly into Nassau and connect on Western Air or Bahamas Air, with approximately eight flights daily to Freeport.

Why Choose H2O Bonefishing?

H2O is renowned for its trophy-class bonefish, where anglers can expect fish averaging 4+ pounds, with regular encounters in the 6–8 lb range. Targeting a true double-digit bonefish is a realistic goal here.

Fall and winter are prime seasons to pursue the year’s biggest fish, and limited date options are still available. In late spring and early summer, anglers also enjoy seasonal opportunities for permit and tarpon, adding to the destination’s appeal.

Non-anglers will find plenty to enjoy as well — from relaxing on the beach or by the pool, to swimming with dolphins, exploring the Garden of the Groves and Lucayan National Park, or experiencing the revitalized Freeport area.

Accommodations

Guests stay at the Pelican Bay Hotel, with a choice of standard or suite accommodations offering comfort and convenience. Within walking distance, you’ll find a variety of restaurants, shops, and beaches in the vibrant Lucaya district.
