Rincon de Luna is an expansive ranch situated in the Calamuchitas Valley, 88 miles SW of Cordoba. Specializing in trophy red stag, this remote estancia offers numerous exotic species for an exciting big game combination. The season is March 1-July 30 with the peak of the rut starting around the first week of April. This is when the mountains and canyons echo with the booming "roars" of these majestic stag. The hunting can be even more interesting after the rut when the stag disperse into the ranches rugged terrain, challenging every shred of accumulated knowledge of those that pursue them.
Hunting is done via horseback or truck/ATV combo. This is a spot and stalk hunt, and your final approach is on foot. Exotics available year round include water buffalo, blackbuck antelope, multi-horn sheep, Scottish blackface sheep, mouflon sheep, Texas dall ram and wild boar.
The 4 bedroom/1 bunkroom estancia offers all amenities and creature comforts including an extensive, well-stocked wine cellar for guests to sample. The common area has a large living room with fireplace, gun room, game room and a grand dining room. An open bar and satellite TV are ready.
Necessities are high-quality binoculars, comfortable hiking boots, kneepads and leather gloves for stalking. A complete gear list will be sent upon booking your reservation.
March 1 - July 30 season with the peak rut dates from March 15 - April 15. Guides suggest three days for each species with minimum hunt duration of four days. Game is hunted on horseback or by 4X4 truck with horseback being the preference. This is spot and stalk with your final approach on foot. Add on dove shooting is easily arranged.
Various packages/lengths of hunts are offered. Typical is 4 hunting days starting at $4,900 pp; various other species offered. Custom hunts quoted at request. Extras are hunting license, transit tag and trophy export tags ($320) for animals taken, trophy shipment to US, tips, and gun rental.
